Florence and the Machine – You’ve Got the Love (the xx version)

I was frantically trying to find the xx’s rework of You’ve Got the Love by Florence and the Machine while at work the other day and somehow got a trojan on my work computer instead…oops…damn pcs.

Anyways I’m happy to say that you can listen and/or download it safely at gorillavsbear.net.

It’s super addictive, not the mention this video is hot.  The xx seems to be all the rage these days and I wish I could give you a detailed account of their live performance.  I recently saw them perform at Tribeca Grand during CMJ, but the crowd was louder than the band unfortunately.  Nonetheless, I’m still enjoying their music at the moment.

Kolache Mama – who wants to try this with me?!

Food

What is a kolache?

A Kolache ( KUH•LA•CHEE ) is a light, flavorful fresh-baked dough filled with different ingredients. Some are savory, some are sweet, but all of them are delicious and quick and easy to eat on the run. It’s the fast food for foodies, and it has finally arrived in New York City.  New York City: meet Kolache Mama!

Obsession of the Month: El Perro Del Mar

http://lastgasstation.files.wordpress.com/2009/02/el-perro-del-mar.jpg?w=439&h=439

This pasy year, I had a chance to check out El Perro Del Mar at the Bowery Ballroom with my bestie, Emmy.  Her latest mini-album, Love is Not Pop came out in April, but I just recently re-introduced myself to the album’s first single, “Change of Heart” and well it just really speaks to me right now.  Sarah Assbring brings seduction and bittersweet sentiments that will leave this song haunting you.
